LOUISVILLE, KY, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Bourbon lovers have one more reason to make a pilgrimage to Bardstown for this year’s Kentucky Bourbon Festival: a brand new expression that’s only available in the Bluegrass State.

After debuting at last year’s festival, Jackson Purchase Bourbon is now available online and on shelves in multiple states. This year’s festival, though, will feature a new release that’s still reserved only for Bourbon lovers in Kentucky.

Jackson Purchase’s 117.8 proof Select Batch Bourbon made an immediate splash at the 2025 festival with a special bottling labeled “Batch No.1.” It collected an impressive array of honors, including two Double Platinum nods from the 2026 ASCOT Awards and Gold Medal in its first year in the San Francisco Spirits Competition.

Originally available only at Kentucky retailers, the overwhelming reception led Jackson Purchase to launch online sales to other states in early 2026. To make sure fans in Kentucky still had something of their own, KY Bourbon Hall of Fame Master Distiller Craig Beam and Head Distiller Terry Ballard created Jackson Purchase Kentucky Select Bourbon.

“Terry and I carefully selected some barrels that really show off what’s unique about our bourbon, and then we bottled it at just the right proof to highlight those flavors," said Beam. “The folks who come to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival know their whiskey, so we can’t wait to share this with them.”

The flavor of Kentucky extends to the outside of the bottle as well, with a blue color theme featuring the Seal of the Commonwealth of Kentucky as well as a bit of Kentucky history.

Tasting the new bourbon at its final 108 proof, Beam remarked, “It reminds me of when I was working with my grandfather and dad. The smell of the yeast always reminded me of banana pudding and that’s exactly the memory that Kentucky Select brought back. I loved that smell!”

Beam also noted flavors of cinnamon, butterscotch, a hint of maple syrup, and “just the right amount of spice.”

Festival Goers will still get to sample and buy the flagship Select Batch Bourbon, as well as the distillery’s new Bottled in Bond release and a Cask Strength, Private Selection Single Barrel chosen by the Kentucky Bourbon Festival team.

All four will also be available for sale in special Festival-only packaging at the prices below, with Beam and Ballard on hand to individually autograph the bottles.
