US Power Partners with Qcells to Offer Factory-Direct Solar Panels to California Homeowners

Direct manufacturer relationship gives customers factory pricing and Tier-1, U.S.-assembled solar technology.

Through the partnership, US Power sources Qcells panels directly, which the company says shortens delivery timelines, tightens quality control, and allows savings from the manufacturer relationship to be passed on to homeowners in the form of lower system pricing and stronger warranty coverage.

The factory-direct relationship comes as Qcells continues to scale its U.S. manufacturing footprint. The company's Dalton, Georgia, facility, which opened in 2019 and completed a capacity expansion in 2023, now produces more than 5.1 gigawatts of solar modules annually. Qcells has also brought a second Georgia facility, in Cartersville, into production — the first U.S. factory built to manufacture ingots, wafers, cells, and finished modules under one roof. Combined, the two Georgia plants are expected to reach approximately 8.6 gigawatts of annual module capacity, or roughly 47,000 panels a day, enough generating capacity to supply an estimated 1.3 million U.S. homes with electricity each year, according to Qcells.

That domestic production base is central to the pitch US Power makes to homeowners: equipment that is sourced and assembled in the United States, backed by a direct line to the manufacturer rather than a chain of resellers. Industry group SEIA has reported that U.S. solar module manufacturing capacity has grown from roughly 8 gigawatts to nearly 70 gigawatts since 2022, driven in part by federal manufacturing incentives — a shift US Power says is giving installers like itself more reliable access to Tier-1, U.S.-assembled components at a time when many competitors still depend on imported panels subject to tariff and supply chain volatility.

Qcells panels installed by Axia by Qcells through US Power carry manufacturer warranties designed to perform for 25 years or more, and the partnership includes U.S.-assembled components, a factor that an increasing number of homeowners weigh when comparing solar bids. US Power says its consultants walk homeowners through warranty terms, equipment specifications, and financing options during the initial consultation, rather than presenting a single standardized package.

"Homeowners are asking more specific questions than they used to — where the panels are made, who backs the warranty, what happens if a company goes out of business," Sords said. "Being able to point to a direct relationship with a manufacturer that's investing billions of dollars in U.S. factories gives people a level of confidence that a reseller relationship just doesn't offer."

US Power says the factory-direct model has become a central part of its pitch to homeowners across California, Texas, Florida, and Illinois as it competes with larger national installers on price and product quality. The company has completed more than 500 solar and roofing installations in California alone, primarily across Los Angeles, Long Beach, Irvine, Riverside, Pasadena, and Ventura, and has recently extended its factory-direct model into its three newest markets.
